New Balance MT10 Minimus Trail based on Barefoot Running
My next pair, MT10 Minimus Trail.
You gotta love their warning
"CAUTION: This product should be introduced slowly into a running exercise routine. Overuse of this product or use for activities outside of running and walking may increase the risk of sustaining injury. This product increases the strain on the foot, calf, and Achilles tendon. New Balance recommends limiting initial use to 10% of overall running workouts and very gradually increasing time and distance."

on running shoes...
"A new musculoskeletal study finds that running with running shoes exerts significantly more stress on key joints than running barefoot..."
whole article
which brings us back to running barefoot and vibram 5 fingers.
such a tricky thing, designing for the body.
it's designed to move.
it's sort of like water.
it can assume so many forms,
what is/is there an optimum form for it?

Technology to wean you off of Technology

If you haven't read "Born to Run", I highly recommend it.
Part of it examines/questions the whole basis of running shoes.
It explains how the foot is a dynamic and interactive system that
REQUIRES stress to work, and by wearing shoes, the cushioning
actually prohibits the foot's (feet's) natural ability to adjust
your stride for efficient movement.
Enter Vibram five finger shoes, originally designed for yachting, but has become the poster child for barefoot running.
Santa, can you send me a pair?
