Universe Architecture to 3D print this building...and Charles Eames
more at inhabitat
as amazing as 3d printing is, I'm a bit fearful of the things that will done, simply because they can be done. it's too easy.
Charles Eames wrote about this. He spoke about how the more difficult the material (in shaping) resulted in a more beautiful object, because the formal move becomes much more considered. It's like the energy taken to come to the decision is reflected by the energy needed to complete the move. Considered form.

Speaking of balls, 3d Systems just released CubeX trio which can print as large as a basketball, awesome! I can't wait till they get to the size of a chair/small furniture...come on, come on, come on!!!!! The CubeX, can print in 2 or three colors (which seems to be the feature of the year, as the new makerbot also does this), and is priced at $2,499. via inHabitat
