It was a big theme at 2012 CES and no different in this year's, 2013 CES as well. John Chambers, CEO of Cisco, gave it the name of the Internet of Everthing...not just things. So, the future, direction, the wind, it's definitely clear. How it will play out? Who knows. The point? What's exciting? To me, it means things will become alive. Objects won't just sit there, they will be reporters unto the world, in ways that we can't/don't quite understand as of yet. But, there are some very interesting indications/developments/products that are NOW showing us what the potential will be. And who else than Kickstarter to help show us. Here's one that was released back in 2012, (still amazing to me) Twine.
and here's a site, appropriately enough, called IOT world (internet of things world).
sometimes we become confused between internet of things and internet of everythings, if you are to then you can resolve your issues form here .. http://bit.ly/2irs7Is
