3d printing, How and When will it affect the shoe industry?

3d printing, it's just beginning to hit mainstream, so beyond what it is, how will it affect it? Good question. One way is the development time gets cut to really really short times, from 4-6 weeks to make a prototype by hand, couple hours,...this is crazy, annnnnnd cue the future. More here.

Mind over Object....thought controlled drones...the future is a seed and it has sprouted

First it was the star wars game, where kids could control a ball going up and down, now? it's a drone that can be flown by thought. Are you ready? The future is upon us. More at/via PopSci.
on Design...
I'm reading The Photographer's Eye by Michael Freeman, and there's a great quote that perfectly describes design and art to me:
"The technology, of course, is vital,
but the best it can do,
is help realize ideas and perception."
Despite all the complexity,
despite all the nuance and infinite subtleties,
Clarity of Intent, answers everything.
"What is it you are trying to do?"
The beauty of simplicity and clarity.

Cariband, 3d printed case for iPhone 5, Holds Stuff

I've been working on a 3d printed project and I just finished! Here are the first few pictures of it, Cariband. The thing is the iPhone 5 can do some pretty amazing things, however, it can't hold even the smallest piece of paper. Cariband helps to hold those things we carry with us daily, ID, credit card, cash and lunch order number. I opened a shop on Shapeways called Object Theory, where it is available, check it out!
